In an effort to quickly raise funds for the earthquake relief efforts in Japan and to remind people that the devastated people of Japan still need assistance, Kaori Keenan has developed Plates Pledged for Japan, a one-day event for restaurants across the Greater Vancouver Area. By committing to donate a portion of your proceeds on April 12, you will be helping support the Red Cross in its recovery efforts in Japan. All restaurants involved will receive a Plates Pledged for Japan poster with space for the pledge at least one week before the event. Social media campaigns have been launched to spread the word and a website will list all participating restaurants and their pledges.
